Childrens Museum

Yesterday I took the kids to the children's museum in Everett. Believe it or not, I had never been there before! Both the kids have been w/ other people once, but not me! It was so fun! It was the perfect "lets get out of the house and do something fun" thing to do! I contemplated getting a membership, because it would pay for itself after two times, but unfortunately I don't think I can take Ari there during the cold/flu season so I'm pretty bummed I waited until now to take the kids there!! We'll be sure sure to go there a couple more times before everyone gets sick!! Here are some photos from our fun day!

At the "Vet Clinic"

Setting appointments
Always a chance to put those hands on her hips and pose
D was not so sure about pretending to get a haircut
At the drive through teller window at the bank
Glow Room
Low and behold, Ari found a Concert Stage...

I picked up Jennie after we went to the museum so she could come spend the night with us. She had surgery last week and can't drive or anything yet. So I was going to make her a nice home cooked meal then we were going to catch up on Entourage (yes, I pay for HBO now just for one show!) Literally 2 mins before my dinner was to come out of the oven, her wound opened up and was bleeding pretty profusely. I took her to the ER and luckily she just had some built up fluid that needed to drain, so it pushed its way out. Anyhoo, I'm pretty sure she was just trying to sabotage my dinner I was making since I spent so much time on it! Now I have a fridge full of Bacon Wrapped pork roast with rosemary mashed potatoes and pan gravy....Ari told me it was good :)

Introducing: Mr. & Mrs. Gebow

Ari loves to pretend she's going to her own wedding. She usually gets ready..and then ends up saying it was cancelled because of the rain or something? lol. Today she actually followed through with the wedding to her dad. Since Jon was at work she (literally) asked D if he would pretend to be daddy so they could get married. He said yes!! I couldn't resist putting on his tuxedo from Ari's wedding last summer. Note, this tux was too small for him then!

Ari wore her flower girl dress from Auntie's wedding, and i actually could barely button it! I know it's been a year, but she doesn't usually grow too much so that was a little bit of excitement for me this morning!

Childrens Hospital

Yesterday we had Ari's first appt. with her Scoliosis doctor down at Children's Hospital. It went pretty much like I had expected it to go. Just watching it for now. She has a 30% curvature (sp) which is not terribly bad. It's impossible to tell now weather that curve will straighten on it's own, or get worse. Scoliosis usually changes during growth spurts, so while she's this little we'll just be watching it. Good news was that it didn't look like it had changed much since her last x-ray which was last summer! We'll go back to see him every 6 months for exams/x-rays. He mentioned if it starts to look like it's getting worse she might be in a brace for a while, we'll see how that goes considering Ari HATES anything constricting for anything "weird". The docs name is Dr. Song, and he's apparently one of the top ortho docs in the us! At least that's was a lot of parents had to say on the CDH groups I belong to. I talked to a bunch of parents that have flown up here from all over just to see him! He definitely seemed to know his stuff so that's re-assuring! I hate thinking that Ari still has so much to go through, I just want it to be done!

Not much else new to report here, here are some pictures from the last week or so:
Seahawks first home game:
The usual suspects and I went to the first home game of the season. The game was, well not so good, but tailgating and hanging out was super fun! We headed down at about 8am and set up our BBQ! Best part of the day was getting into the $50 tailgating area for free!

I'm thinking it's time for us to invest in a new computer! My computer has officially crashed and I can't check my email, or my myspace! What's a stay-at-home-mom to do??

Not a whole lot to report anyways, just hanging out enjoying these summer days, though I have already officially decided to stop caring if it's nice out, It has been fun getting the kids back in their swimsuits!!

Here are a couple of the photos I was actually able to get onto my computer!

Surprise!! Ari decided to cut her hair!!
I didn't think she could get any cuter, but she always amazes me...

D finally got his haircut too, everyone should be happy he doesn't have a "rat tail" anymore!

Good Times, Cute Kids:

Funny stuff, maybe just to me!

D loves to get on my bed and go under the covers and call it his house. When Ari tries to go under with him he freaks out and starts yelling "get out of my house"..."get out of my house"...10 points for anyone who can name the movie...other than my sis, I know you know!!

Weddings & CDH

Jon and I went to Nick and Jill's fabulous wedding this Saturday! They reception was at Willows Lodge in Woodinville which was just beautiful! It had me thinking of little Ari since that is where Jon and I were staying the day I found out, and got to tell Jon and my mom & sis I was prego! It was so exciting! Little did we know the journey she would take us on! Back to the wedding...It turns out Jon recognized someone at the wedding from Children's Hospital! He worked in the respiratory area and helped take care of Ari while we were there when she was first born! It was so interesting to talk to someone who knew all about CDH, and all that goes with it. He now works for Children's Research involved with respiratory issues! So pretty much he's my hero! Most people i meet/talk to about CDH and Ari don't realize the severity of the birth defect. It's easy to "look" at Ari and think it's all over now, and shes perfect...but the truth is she will always have some hills to climb. It's amazing to talk to someone who knew so much about it, and her treatments, and everything. And he did say how lucky we are!!
I'm feeling "lucky" right now, I don't know if that's the right word to describe it, but I just found out another CDH baby passed away early this morning. She fought HARD for her life for almost 3 weeks. Her name is Elliott or "Elli". Once again I find it hard to imagine what her parents are going through today. Please keep them in your prayers.

So you wanna be a rockstar...

Is it too much to assume that most people get that "so you wanna be a rock star, is actually a Hannah song....?
My girl wants to be a rock star. She usually asks "if I eat all my broccoli it make me strong like a pop star?" Hey, anything to get a 4 year old to eat veggies!!
