Memorial Day Weekend!

We had a fun, quiet Memorial weekend! We had no plans, because we thought the weather was going to be yucky, but it turned out so nice!! We finally pressure washed our roof and car port which was badly neeeded! Jon got to borrow his dads bike again and go for a nice ride too!
Friday night we had our "movie night", kid's pick of course. So it was Stuart Little 3, and The Aristocats. Jon fell asleep during the movie, but the kids did not let him go down easy!! Then Ari and I slept on the couch, which she'd been wanting to do for a while!! I must say our new couch is waaay too comfy...I could sleep out there everynight!! Sunday my mom and I took the kids to U Village. It was so nice out..we let Darren get SOAKING wet in the fountains. It was soo funny. He actually had a crowd around him watching...i tried to get some photos & vids, but the timing wasnt perfect, I was too busy laughing. Also apparently since my last blog about him being scared of slides, he has gained some confidence. He went down the slide in the toy area there no problem, over and over! I guess he didnt want me spreading rumors about him being a chicken. After U Village we stopped by my grandparents house for a visit..and a round of naked tag, Darrens favorite game...I wonder how he'll feel about these pictures when he's older?? Enjoy!

Potty Training Update!!

Ari is still wearing underwear!! Whooo hooo! It seems now we are completely out of the diaper stages with her! She started not wearing a diaper at night this week also and has done great w/ that! Even woke jon up at 3:00am to go potty today which is a HUGE step for her!! Im so proud! and happy about the money we'll save on diapers!!! I never thought I would get so excited over anything that has to do with "potty"...

No News is Good News I guess!

I havent updated in a while..simply because not much is going on around here! We enjoyed the nice weather last weekend and got a lot done on our yard, had a bbq, and played pretty hard outside with the kids! I've realized Jon and I have raised the two most "chicken" kids in the world. At 2 & 4 neither of them will run through a sprinkler, they like to run right along the edge so they dont get too wet. Neither will just jump into a little pool, (and I mean LITTLE, as in 4in of water) after about an hour they will slowly start to sit down in it. Both are pretty scared of slides of all sized (even baby ones) and D still is scared of swinging. I actually thought i was kind of brave, but maybe not! Maybe now that their Dad is an official Biker Dude they will toughen up a little bit!!

She did it!!

After trying and trying very unsuccessfully, our little miss Ari is FINALLY Potty Trained!! It all happened very quick, and easy. As we suspected, she just needed to wait till she was ready and BOOM, done. We're going on about a week now with just diapers at night. She's only had 2 "oops" moments and she is just so excited about the whole thing! (as are we). I know she is over 4 and to most people that is so so late to potty train, but given everything Ari has been through, I found it better not to push her too hard, she has never taken to that very well. She likes to do things on her own time, her own way. She's definitely our little miracle and this feels like a really big step for her in the right direction!! Go Ari Go!!

Sunny spring day!!

Hola little miss Maizey!!

Wouldn't you know I leave for my first real vacation in 5 years, and Lana has a baby while I'm gone!! While I was really upset that i couldn't be there, luckily I was in Cancun with Jessica (that's right, no husbands, no kids!!) and we were able to have a pretty good time! OK the best time! We literally did NOTHING but lay in the sun every day, all day. We slept in late and never left our hotel. It was the most relaxing vacation ever!! The best part is Jon and the kids had a blast while i was gone! I cannot believe how well they did with out me, it was re-assuring, and, I might have to take more of these Vacation things....OK, Future vacation planning aside...
Ryan and Lana welcomed Maizey into the world 4/25/08, she is the tiniest peanut ever weighing 5lbs 3oz. She is the cutest sweetest thing I've ever seen. I fell instantly in love with her!! So did Darren, he wanted to kiss her..and hold her. Maybe in a few years bubba...So here is some photos from the busy last week we had around here.
